ABOUT COLLEGE

Background
|
The Vinayak College of Health Science has been founded to meet the ever growing
demand of middle level health workers in the country. According to one recent estimate,
Nepal requires 10 thousand health workers every year. In practical terms, however,
the actual number can only be much higher.
On the global scale, the demand is no less. In US, UK and most other European nations,
there’s a growing need for qualified nurses. UK alone has granted some 20,000 visas
to nurses last year. The number is more or less the same in many European countries.
Therefore, there is a pressing requirement to produce more qualified middle level
health workers every year. Considering this and other fundamental factors the Vinayak
College of Health Science is committed to impart both quality education and training
to the young aspirants so that they can be employed not only in Nepal but also in
other countries. However, Nepal being out foremost priority, our entire focus shall
be to meet nation’s requirement first in order to make this Himalayan pocket a healthy
nation.
The need of the hour is to produce adequate number of middle level health workers
which are necessary for all levels of health care delivery system. In such a context,
initially a few people of the college management embarked in the enormous task of
imparting health education for the country.
Later the initiative grew into the establishment of Vinayak College of Health Science
in 2002.

It is a college imparting technical education. It is affiliated to the Council for
Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) and recognised by the Nepal
Nursing Council and the Nepal Health Professional Council.

Rules & Regulations

The college is governed by its own specified rules and regulations. However, the
academic activities are performed under the rules and regulations designed by CTEVT,
Nepal Health Professional Council and Nepal Nursing Council.

VCOHS is located in a peaceful and spacious area at Battisputali, 150 meters from
Gaushala. Public transportation from the college is easily accessible.

It is a technical college of technical manpower to pursue technical education. This
is quite an established college and affiliated to Council for Technical Education
and Vocational Training (CTEVT). We have well setup for General Medicine and Medical
Lab Technology courses.
VCOHS is at very suitable location of Kathmandu valley i.e. near Pashupati Temple,
Gaushala and public transportation is frequent around college premises throughout
the various parts of the city.
We have well experienced teachers (i.e., pathologist, doctors', readers & professors)
who are reputed in government and non- government medical colleges and universities
also.
We provide 3 years course in Proficiency Certificate Level of General Medicine,
Medical Lab Technology and Nursing. After successful completion of this course student
will be awarded Certificate Level of their studies by CTEVT (Council for Technical
Education & Vocational Training).
We have our own working fields – Hospitals, Communities and Pathology laboratories,

This is a private college operated under its own specified rules and regulations.
However, the academic activities are performed under the rules and regulations of
CTEVT, NHPC and NNC.
